Friends of Cooper Park

Preserving the peace and sanctuary of the park

The Friends of Cooper Park act as a community group liaising with Woollahra Council on matters affecting the park’s aesthetics, upkeep, maintenance and improvements.

They have succeeded, among other things, in pushing for Heritage Listing at a local and State level. They believe that the feeling of natural bushland should be retained, in concert with the original recreational design of Victorian pleasure ground. They would like the local Council at all times to consider the peace and sanctuary provided by the park, as well as the amenities for exercise, situated as it is, within an urban milieu.

If you feel you would like to support these initiatives please contact them here: friendsofcooperpark2020@gmail.com

Cooper Park Tennis is an Oasis in the City

Imagine playing tennis nestled in a valley of towering gum trees, ferns, Kookaburras, a waterfall and flowing creeks. And yet be right in the middle of Sydney. It sounds like a dream, but this is Cooper Park Tennis. Tennis players can also enjoy the wonderful setting with a break at the cafe. If you are lucky you might even spot our resident turtle living in the nearby creek. With plenty of parking and being close to public transport, there no excuse not to visit.
